A.

-$15 was paid to Cinema Group for the rights to screen "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog".

-The date that the movie will be shown will be:

Oct 8; 8PM, 9PM, 10PM

-The trailer will cost $10 to make, it will be good advertisement

B.

-Dan will talk to CLC in order to arrange a mixer with them.

II. Kailee

A.

Wants to have a BBQ in the Anderson Volleyball Court/grill area. A frisbee or volleyball game or both will be part of the activities.

B.

There will be a Game Night on Oct 3rd

-We will try to order Pit Pizzas in advance

-Food minus burgers and hotdogs will must be self-funded; but is encouraged to be made.

C.

-There have been 80-90 applications for the CIF Lab, and about 5 for membership. Emails have been sent to the people who applied for membership.

III. Andy

-Flyers for the BBQ and Game Night must be made

-We need to contact FIF for the November 5th Guy Fawkes Celebration with Entertainment.

IV. Jay

-$40 have been approved to buy 5000 sheets of printer paper at Office Depot.

September 3, 2009

Emergency Board Meeting Minutes:

1.)Dues:

-Dues will be due before the last day in September ends...so on September 30th.

-Dues will be $20

-Dues will be handed to the Secretary/Treasurer in person...which is me, Jay.

-Bryan Jacobs and Jason Zhu have paid their dues for the fall 2009 semester so far.

2.) Dan will go talk to CLC and CSUG of having future events. CLC has suggested that they want a mixer with us, more information will follow later.

3.) Cinema Group

-Will will try to plan a movie night with Cinema group. The movie that will be shown is Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.

-We have contacted Cinema Group about this, but they have not responded yet.

4.) Due to the service fees not being held, we will close the CIF bank account with Chase.

5.) CIFnic

-Will be scheduled for the Saturday of Meliora weekend (Oct 10, 2009). The event will start at 2pm and will end whenever we feel like it should end.

-In a few weeks, Ashley will make a list of things that need to get done for CIFnic. The current idea is that we will divide up the tasks for CIFnic into small groups of people who will carry them out. This way no one person or a group of people will be overwhelmed with CIFnic, and everyone at least does something than just come and eat...or be antisocial and not show up (exceptions go out to ppl who really cannot make it due to planned events)

-CSH will not be at the fall 2009 CIFnic, but will be invited at the Spring 2010 CIFnic.

6.) Dan will go talk to Burt about twp things:

a.) Will Burt bring his cool Star Wars games to future CIF Game Nights?

b.) Where is our scrolling LED display that was in the CIF core?

7.) We are thinking of doing a Guy Fawkes day event with food and entertainment with the Film Interest Floor on November 5th. The reason why we decided against starting the entertainment on November 4th was because it is a Wednesday night, so it's in the middle of the week rather than near the end.

8.) We need to work on better advertising, since after this year, CIF will lose a lot of members due to them graduating.

9.) People should also consider running for the e-board positions since our term ends once this fall semester ends.

10.) We should advertise movie nights via CIF mailing lists?

I. Pi++ Day

A.) Things we need from you CIFers:

-We need volunteers to work the event (set up, running it, clean up).

-We need people to put up fliers.

-We need to make signs for the tables

-We need to purge out the common fridge to make space for frozen pies and whipped cream pies.

-We need people to bake the frozen pies on Monday, April 13th, 2009.

II. Bryan: By the end of Monday (April 13th, 2009), the CIF lab will be open. Users should register online.

III. Volunteers are needed to clean out the old server rack cage, so that a new one can be installed. This will be done near the end of the year during finals week.

IV. CIFnic

A.) Has been officially moved to April 24th, 2009 (the day before D-Day)

B.) Times will be from 2:00PM until whenever it is going to end.

C.) We will be cooking our own food. So we need to make a list of grill foods (hot dogs, burgers, condiments, etc.)

D.) Please tell alumni about this in advance.

April 5th, 2009

I. Our current balance is $310.96

II. The card reader has been installed (yay!) However only Isaac and Bryan can enter the lab because the reader has not been programmed yet to let anyone else in. Bryan or Isaac needs a USB hub to do this.

III. Dan and Jay are going to talk to Burt on Monday April 6th, 2009 about Pi +1 Day and the spontaneous kitchen mess problem.

IV. CIFnic

-We have decided to move it to a later date so that it is not on D-Day, probably the weekend after. 

-We also need to contact and tell the CIF alumni when CIFnic is when we decide on the official date, so that they know in advance to come and visit us then.

V.  Pi +1 Day

-Jay has made a budget for it, it was shown to Tower's Hall Council. They approved $75 to be funded to us. This is very good news.

-We need to get a banner up by Tuesday April 7th, 2009. We also need fliers designed, printed, copied, and posted all around campus by Thursday April 9th. 

-John Brimlow is interested in designing the banner and fliers.

-ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN HELPING SHOULD EMAIL THE BOARD, OR APPROACH ONE OF US...WE WILL TALK, WE WILL SEE WHAT YOU WANT TO DO, AND WE WILL ACCOMMODATE IT.

-Jay will talk to CLC about receiving funds and assistance.

-CSH is interested in Pi +1 day.
