Board meeting Minutes September 9^th

Attendees: Isabel Anderson, Linda Vasavong, Josh Cohen, Tommy Hanson, Andrew Soborowski, Austin Varela, Cole Miller

• Board has discussed super single constitution changes
• We had great attendance at the tech seminar and GIM
  • Continue tech seminars in Douglass
• Board is still working on the budget
• Board has discussed moving in our new member
• Board has set dates for all our events
  • CIFGiving will be November 17^th
  • Game Nights will be Oct 20^th, Nov 10^th, Dec 8^th
  • Tech Seminars will be Oct 21^st, Nov 11^th, Dec 8^th
  • Movie Nights will be Sept 22^nd, Oct 6^th, Nov 17^th, Dec 1^st
  • One shot Night Oct 27^th
• Board will try to reach out to other groups to cosponsor events
• Computer Interest fire and social will be this Friday at 7 at the Jackson Court fire pit
• Board has discussed buying Secret Hitler and Wii remotes
• Board has discussed dues and participation points
• Board has discussed the card reader and is working on a fix

The Constitution has been ratified. Co-Presidency is now official and associates no longer exist.

They are due on 03/18. All full members must pay $25 in dues.
Upcoming events: Unix Tech seminar: 02/03 likely at Douglass 404 at 2Pm.
Codenames form will be released soon.

November 13th, 2022

Upcoming Events:

• CIFGiving (11/19): We need more people to bring food/related items, and are giving out points per item brought!
• SIH Winterfest (Dec 4): We will need people to table/present, and of course, simply show up
• CIF-Greenspace Collab (11/18, 3:30-5): Please show up if you are at all interested in sustainable technology (there will also be a CS related talk)!

Upcoming Events:

• Tech Seminar coming up on the 12th, will be on LaTeX  (time/location TBD)
• Minecraft Night coming up
• CIFGiving coming up later on (please fill out the RSVP form), and volunteer to bring things

Election/Nominations

• Positions up for nominations include Co-Presidents (one person can nominate themselves although 2 are encouraged), Logistics, Junior Tech Director, and Secretary-Treasurer
• Elections will be happening on the 13th (the next floor meeting)
• Even if you are not running, it’s important to attend
• Nominees will have to pass an easy constitution quiz (probably open book) if they are elected
• New officers will have the support of previous board members with many years of experience (called Shadowboard)
• If you want to nominate yourself, please reach out to Board and notify Sarah if possible so you can be added to the list of candidates
• Currently, there are no nominees for Presidents

  • Will ask for little screwdrivers and textbooks that are not older than himself

  • If a printer breaks down, Cole will have the tech directors fix it
