    • Caitlin has emailed the RAs about kitchen space but hasn’t gotten much response – she will email again for kitchen space by Wednesday

Board Meeting Minutes – October 19, 2015

  • Dongles
    • Kate suggests that we should update the dongle library
    • Mini display port adaptors and VGA-HDMI adaptors
    • This will be tabled until we can look at projector prices (see below)

    • We should have an inventory at some point
    • Frank and Kate will go through the current lab stuff at some point to get rid of stuff
  • Ordering T-shirts
    • Alan has been talking to LPTees about this but they’re slow
    • Alan will try and get a response as soon as he can
  • Ordering one big thing each semester
    • This has been suggested by Frank
    • The current suggestion is a new projector (with HDMI support)
  • We should push for projector rentals
    • This is a good source of income for CIF

    • People can drop in and out as need be
  • Food at floor meetings will no longer merit a point at floor meetings

  • Alumni idea
    • Alumni want to be notified for events such as Game Night
    • Sara will send them an email asking if they want to be added to the events mailing list
  • Board members will read through the current online version of the Constitution to make sure it’s all accurate
  • Chess Club cosponsored event
    • We’ll have our Game Night – if they’re interested in cosponsoring then they’ll need to send us information about what they’d do
    • This would be the November game night
  • CIF/AIF Game Night
    • Halloween Game Night
    • Caitlin will try and get in contact with AIF to divvy up duties as well as see how it’ll be going
  • Print Toner
    • We still have some backlogged
    • Kate will find information on how much we’ve labelled

    • Frank and Caitlin will go get the food

  • The SIH google calendar and the CIF calendar will be linked by Sara

Board Meeting Minutes – September 21, 2015

  • Kate will be finding out information on drive bays to buy two new ones
    • 50 dollars have been allocated
  • We will attempt to sell the X-Serves
    • Frank will do this
  • 40 has been allocated for the filters
  • For the mural painting, we need to make sure we know what we need from facilities as well as dates it will be happening and who will be painting
    • We will need tarp, painting tape, and paint that’s the color of the core
    • Also trays and rollers
    • We also need to send Anika the final design
    • Kate will edit the image as well as the shirt one
  • Anika will be at the next floor meeting
  • We should be checking on who will be living on floor next semester
  • Alan needs to make a Google Sheets with the events for Anika

  • Shirts will be ordered once there’s a design

  • Ethan has implemented some new policies that will be announced and go into effect starting from the next floor meeting. The policies as written by Ethan are explained below:
    • Morning cleanout- each morning, I or one of my holy enforcers will go to the kitchen and claim ALL kitchen things left in there overnight for my collection. If the owner contacts me within the day and isn’t a repeat offender, they get it back whenever I can give it to them. If not, they can claim it at the next floor meeting. If things remain unclaimed, they’ll become CIF property.
    • Publification- as part of the morning cleanout, spices/sauces/whatever that are left on the counter will be placed on the shelf in an area designated for public stuff, and can be used by whoever until the owner takes them back.
    • Public vs private shelf- kind of referenced above, but I’d like to designate a private and public portion of the shelf, because the mix of stuff there is annoying. I’d rather it jut be obvious.
    • Quest- get a 6-pack of paper towels for the kitchen. They can be bought pretty cheaply from hillside. This will be a recurring thing whenever we run out of paper towels.
    • Long-term counter occupants- some things can be left on the counter, assuming they get permission from me. Some examples are Mark’s mixer and the public coffee/coffeepot, which I may mention at the next floor meeting along with whatever else is implemented.

  • One day max rule for dishes
    • e. Pantheon of Cleanliness will check every day at some predetermined time – if anything is there without the knowledge of that member it will be confiscated
    • Also cutting the dish rack in half – one for members dishes and one for community dishes
  • T-shirt Design Contest
    • Will be open until the next floor meeting (i.e. 9/20)
  • CIF constitution voting will be at the next floor meeting (again, 9/20)
  • Alex has proposed a collaboration event with Sage on ‘technological art’ open to the U of R community
  • Alex has also proposed collective CIF Let’s Play events in the lab
  • CIF will be co-sponsoring/participating in Shack-a-thon
    • We will pay for the first team’s pledge
    • It will be on the Saturday September 19th
